Project Brief
Spectrum is an annual editorial magazine of the Pillai’s College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Mumbai, India.
The theme for the year 2021 was ‘Connecting to The Future’ which featured articles on technological advancements in art, language, agriculture and more.
As the design team lead, my role was to ensure project completion in the given time frame without compromising the output while training the team members.
The central idea for the design was to create a magazine that was fitting to the theme, elegant and modern-looking.
The Project Vision
Design the magazine to fit the image of Artificial Intelligence.
Consistent design theme throughout the project.
Highlight the progressive activities in the field of AI.
Deliver the magazine in the span of 3 months.
Conclusion
To have an experience in the print industry, this was personally, my first delivered project for a magazine. From figuring out the layouts to learning the Adobe InDesign software within 7 days, we did it all to ensure our project came together as we imagined it to be.
The project included working with editors, coordinators and heads of different departments. The communication process helped me understand team dynamics and delegation to a great degree.
The project was a success with a fruitful learning experience for our design team. This gave us several opportunities for further design projects that you can check on my profile.
